Welcome to Work Play Namaste

If you’ve ever felt like you’re constantly giving at work, at home, and everywhere in between, you’re not alone. That constant output can leave little space for rest, reflection, or simply breathing.

Work Life Burnout

I know this because I’ve lived it too, and sometimes I still do. Yoga has always been part of my life in one way or another, but when I found myself running on empty, I came back to it with new intention. This time, it wasn’t about doing more or pushing harder. It was about finding stillness in small, simple ways to reset my nervous system in the middle of everyday demands.

I’m Tracy, Chief Operating Officer & Wellness Program Director, at Work Play Namaste, and one of the co-founders. What began as a personal return to stillness and reset practices has grown into a shared mission: creating space for women like me — women who give all day and still want to feel present, grounded, and whole.

Why We Started Work Play Namaste

Work Play Namaste was created out of this shared need, a space for women to slow down, reconnect, and find tools that actually fit into real life.

For us, the name itself is a guide:

  • Work represents the effort we give every day to our careers, our families, and our responsibilities.

  • Play reminds us not to lose the joy, creativity, and lightness that keep us whole.

  • Namaste calls us back to mindfulness and presence, a simple bow to ourselves and to others, honoring that we’re all doing our best.

I didn’t build this vision alone. Two incredible women joined me:

  • Kellie Ashley Tate, Chief Executive Officer & Head of Corporate Communications — Kellie has a gift for cutting through the noise and reminding us to focus on what truly matters.

  • Jasmine Tate, Chief Marketing Officer & Creative Director — Jasmine is our creative force, making sure our vision and message reach the women who need it most.

Together, the three of us lead Work Play Namaste with the same balance we encourage others to find: a rhythm of effort, joy, and stillness woven into daily life.

A Lesson I Keep Coming Back To

One truth continues to guide me:

We can do anything, but not everything all at once.

I can’t take credit for this line — it came to me in an unexpected way. I first saw it scribbled on the bathroom wall of a yoga studio while I was training for my kids yoga certification. It struck me immediately, not because I was struggling in that moment, but because I was having such a joy-filled experience. That training was full of laughter and playfulness, especially during the partner poses where I found myself laughing and lighting up in a way I hadn’t in a long time.

Finding those words in that setting felt like a message left behind. Maybe from another woman who had lived the overwhelm, learned this truth, and wanted to pass it forward. I didn’t need the reminder right then, but I tucked it away knowing one day I would. And I have.

Some days I come back to it more than once, as a gentle reminder. It tells me I don’t have to do everything all at once. I can savor the playful, joy-filled moments and give myself permission to pause when everything feels nonstop.

For me, balance isn’t a finish line. It’s not something we “arrive” at and hold onto forever. It’s something we keep practicing, day by day, through pauses, through play, through giving ourselves the grace to begin again.

So to the person who first wrote those words on that bathroom wall: thank you. You probably had no idea how far your reminder would travel. I carry it with me still, and I hope I can continue passing it along so that other women know they don’t have to carry it all alone either.

Why We Do What We Do

So many of us spend our days pouring into others, our work, our families, our communities, until there’s little left for ourselves. It doesn’t happen all at once, but over time the giving adds up, and suddenly rest, reflection, and presence feel like luxuries instead of essentials.

Work Play Namaste was created as a reminder that it doesn’t have to be that way. Stillness, play, and simple resets can fit into real life even in the busiest seasons. We do this work because we know what it feels like to give endlessly, and we believe every woman deserves a space to come back to herself.

This is the heart of why we do what we do: creating space for women to pause, restore, and remember they don’t have to do it all at once.
